The other day I was explaining my science fair experiment to my classmates and he sneaks up behind me to listen. I was explaining that I’m going to teach 15 people Swedish and see how easily their brain retains the language after two months…

Then he pipes in and says “Why would anyone need to know Swedish, it’s completely useless unless you go into IKEA. No one needs to know Swedish, it’s a stupid language…” and blah blah blah. Then he walked away.Talk about ignorant, right? I don’t even plan on staying in the USA when I get older either, I’m going straight to Sweden. What’s funny is that I want to teach ENGLISH there. Sometimes people really make me frustrated.

I was pretty irritated with him. My classmates were trying to get me to laugh it off because they know that I speak Swedish at home and in my personal life. I mean wouldn’t the teacher think that if I’m going to teach someone Swedish, it’s because I know the language? He really should have thought before he spoke and insulted me that way. I actually felt embarrassed and a little put down.

I know Swedish isn’t a very common language and it isn’t very helpful in the United States, but still… OTHER PEOPLE SPEAK OTHER LANGUAGES. I’m learning Spanish right now in school, I can already speak English, which is useful, then I’m learning Spanish, which is also useful. What right does he have to criticize me about speaking ONE “useless” language on top of TWO useful languages? Seriously. This kind of stuff really makes me angry.

Sorry for the silly rant, but that was really bothering me. 

Okay so last week almost every single Swede I know attacked my Mormor and Morfar’s home here in Cape Cod… IT WAS AMAZING! We had ice cream like every day, so now I feel like a big fatty, but hey, SWEDES ARE CURVY. /stereotypes :D

One day we went on my uncle’s client’s boat. That was really a lot of fun! I got a sun burn though… I got a sun burn every time we went to the beach or went outside… WHY CAN’T I TAN? We went to the beach like a million times, and my auntie and I are the only ones who like to go, my cousins don’t! THEY TAN A TON! I DON’T. How can the ones who tan not like the beach? I have no idea…

Another day we went for a bike ride on the Cape Cod Rail Trail. Hooray for biking 26 miles! I didn’t even get tired! I felt so boss afterwards.

Last Thursday we went to Nantucket for the day, went to the beach there, then my cousins and I hung out with a couple of locals. IT IS A GOOD IDEA TO SEND SIX TEENAGERS OUT AROUND TOWN BY THEMSELVES. We went out to eat and our bill came to $131.00… I almost died. It was funny though, because we had enough to pay for it. Then we booked out of there really fast and ran all the way around town and down the docks laughing like idiots.  I had such an awesome time in Nantucket and I can’t wait to go back.

I’m going to my bestie’s on Tuesday until Thursday, then I’m going school SHOPPING! Then Friday Vallie and I are going to go see the Glee 3D Concert Movie. I’m so excited, every time I see the commercials for the movie I squee and giggle and get all happy. I’m pretty sure that I’m a gleek.
